"From the Desk" is the theme of Flourishes Timeless Tuesday Challenge #174. My sister and I have have many things in common, one of which is the love of pretty notepads, so I chose to a make a simple set of twenty monogrammed notecards for her. These are perfect for jotting down a small list or idea or for tucking in a gift.
I used Spellbinders Labels 1 die to cut the notecards. I created the border using a stamp from Flourishes Sweet Violets stamp set. The S is from Pink Persimmon's Carnival Alpha (Small), and it is flanked with small flourishes from another Flourishes stamp set--Seeds of Friendship.
A decorative band keeps the notecards together, yet will allow Suzie to slide out a notecard when she needs one. This is a quick-to-make gift that I'm sure she will use.
Have a wonderful week,
Cammie

PTI Blog Hop and retrosketches #17
It's great to be a part of June's Papertrey Ink Blog Hop with this beautiful photo
which inspired this card
I chose a more muted pallette than the inspiration photo, using Lemon Tart, Aqua Mist, and Ocean Tides.
I used Turning a New Leaf stamps, Ocean Tide ink, and Aqua Mist cs for the background. Using this tutorial from SCS, I used Lemon Tart cs to create the pleat; then I added a little rick rack trim in the middle. I used the Linen Impression Plate with Soft Stone cs for the background of the focal point with a pinking edge peeking out from the right. Bloom Builders #3 die and Turning a New Leaf dies create a floral accent for the sentiment from Healing Touch.
I used RetroSketches #17 for my card design. This recently discovered blog is a great sketch challenge blog.
Be sure to check out Nichole Heady's blog for the list of participants and links to fabulous cards.
Thanks in advance to the participants for your wonderfully creative inspiration.
