Flourishes Floral Finesse Challenge

It's almost time for another Flourishes release! In anticipation of the release, Flourishes is hosting a Floral Finesse Challenge. The challenge is to use your favorite flower color as inspiration for your card. As you can tell from my blog's name, I love violets. I have them in my garden from fall through spring. And the first Flourishes set I purchased was Sweet Violets. So I had no problem choosing the inspiration for this card. I colored the violets with Prismacolor pencils. I gave my card a vintage feel with the trim, and what a find that button was! When I finished the card, it reminded me of my grandmother. I think my love of gardening comes from my grandparents who grew beautiful flowers and had such a neat little green house.

While my violets are struggling right now in the cold, they still have some blooms along with a the camellias (of course, I have to have camellias--my given name is Camellia). The violets' smiling faces make me happy when I look out the kitchen window.
