Christmas in JulyWMSC #106

Christmas products are on the shelves in Hobby Lobby, so I guess that means it is officially Christmas in July. And as with every year, I think I am going to have all cards and tags made well in advance of the holidays but I truly have a hard time executing my plans when it's 100 degrees. So I am quite pleased with myself that I made a Christmas card this week--I can give myself an "atta girl" for the little things. :)
I used the sketch from this week's Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge.
I used  these Waltzingmouse Stamps: Vintage Ornaments, Festive Foliage, and Heirloom Patterns.I did keep the colors somewhat light (my nod to the summer heat, perhaps?). I fussy cut the stamped images from Festive Foliage to layer between the embossed panel and the ornament. While I love all the dies on the market, I don't mind hand cutting at all; although, ---confession time--sometimes I must wear reading glasses over my bifocals. It's ok to laugh out loud now.  Needless to say, I only do this in the privacy of my home where only my husband can see me and comment dryly, "Nice look"

I'm off to shop and have lunch with my sister--love time with my sister!
Have a great day,

  2. Looking daft in two pairs of glasses is certainly worth it because your card is lovely. Love the embossed background and the hint of lilac.

  3. Wow - this is just gorgeous. I like the embossed background, the pretty bauble and the fussy cut greenery! You did make me smile with your story about the reading glasses and bifocals :) I find that I sometimes have to take my specs off now to read the small print ;)

Love those incredible pinecones (can I just say that that is one of my all time favorite sets...they're so realistic!!) tucked behind the ornament!
And YAY for Christmas in July...
I start getting excited for the Holidays right about now!
When it's 100+ outside just having cooling thoughts of winter and Christmas...
I like to think it makes it a little easier to bare! :)

  8. Love the soft colors of your card...and the notes about your glasses made me smile! I can't see close anymore with my glasses on so I end up losing them all over the house as I take them off and forget about them...getting old is full of challenges LOL!
