Flourishes October Release Challenge

Flourishes October release is underway, and with that release they are sponsoring a challenge called Christmas with a Twist. The twist is to create a Christmas card or project without using red or green.
I went with a soft color scheme of aqua and cream.

Meet Me Under the Mistletoe stamp set provides the focal point. Using Flourishes cut files, I cut the shape with the Silhouette and then stamped in Toffee Crunch Memento ink. I know I say this every time I use these cut files, but I really do LOVE them! I do hope they will provide more cut files for some of the older sets.  After coloring the ribbon with Copics and adding some pearls for the berries, I inked the edges with Antique Linen Distress Ink. I added it to the card front (a Silhouette cut file) with dimensional tape. The sentiment is from Flourishes Sleigh Ride.Last, I repeated the roundness of the kissing ball and the bottom edge of  the front and added a little more texture with a circle border cut from aqua felt.

Sweet Summer

Set the stage:  In may my husband SURPRISED me with a Silhouette Cameo for my birthday. (His normal gift-giving follows this scenario--I purchase it,and then I tell him what he's giving me.) Having mentioned a Cameo  only a couple of times and not in any relation to my birthday, I was floored when this sweet, sweet man presented one for my birthday. Who knew he was even paying attention to my crafty conversation months before?

Turn on the lights:

The Cameo Spotlight is a new challenge blog focusing on cards and the Silhouette.  The theme of the first challenge is summer, and the design team has created some fantastic cards for inspiration.

Take the stage: There are so many delightful aspects to summer including colorful flowers in the garden and cool, refreshing ice cream.Using these Silhouette files: ice cream cone card file (8233) and the flower file (26929), I combined those two delights for my card.

And of course, a summer means gingham. (Of course, I can find a reason to use gingham in every season)

The stamped sentiment is from PTI's Everyday Button Bits, and the foliage is cut from Spellbinders Foliage die.

Smell the flowers, nibble on some ice cream, dive in the pool, or nap on the porch.  Have a sweet summer day.
