I know guests here would be delighted with this favor with a few chocolates nestled inside. I'm not sure if their delight would result from the chocolates or the reference to the tourist attraction Rock City near Chattanooga, Tennessee, which is about two hours away. You can read about the history of Rock City here. When Rock City opened in the early 30s, the advertising campaign was quite simple--farmers' barns were painted with the simple message--See Rock City. From Michigan to Florida and Texas, one man, painted the barns to promote Rock City. You can read more about the history of these barns here. Many of these painted barns are still around today.
So are you ready to come party or visit Rock City? If you visit Rock City, let me know what you think because I have never been. I've seen the barns. I 've seen the birdhouses. But I've never seen Rock City.

ReplyDeleteWhat a cute idea for the challenge. Love your little birdhouse! And your card works beautifully for Becky's challenge!
ReplyDeleteOh I was squealing when I opened your post, of COURSE I remember the signs on the rooftops for Rock City, we'd see them on the drive down to Florida as we went on the path towards TN. And such a cute idea! Great use of the birdhouse. Red and white is such a classic too, that card is sweet as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great set!! LOVE the mix of patterns on your card, too! :)
ReplyDeleteI'd love to come to your party and walk away with one of those birdhouses! Your birdhouse box is so cute! Love your card too. Reminds me of a summer picnic cloth.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card and birdhouse Cammie!
ReplyDeleteAwww! Not only have I been to THAT Rock City Cammie, but we have two more Rock City's up here in NY/PA both within an hours drive of me. One is very touristy, as it has been in operation since 1890, and the other is only welll-known to locals because it is very hidden. One of my favorite places to go!
ReplyDeleteThat card is just gorgeous, Cammie! I love the blocks of patterned paper! Cute bird house :)
ReplyDeleteGreat job on both of them! Thanks for playing along. I look forward to seeing your challenge for us next!
ReplyDeleteI remember seeing signs like that when we drove up from Atlanta when I was a kid! I adore your projects! Thanks for playing along with us at Embellish!
ReplyDeleteAWESOME birdie house treat boxes! Love the card too!
