The pins and needle challenge: use trinket pins, machine stitching, or stamped stitching on a card.
Those trinket pins are somewhere in the embellishment drawer. And while I love using my sewing machine with my cards, my sewing machine needs some major tension refinement (It went crazy wonky when I got ready to hem six drapery panels a few months ago. I hemmed them by hand because I was so frustrated trying to adjust the tension.) Sooooo, stamped stitching for this gal for this challenge. I used Sew Simple Borders inked in red.

SAF 21015: Patterns Challenge
For the pattern challenge, I chose the card pattern by Danielle Flanders.

SAF 2015 Bridal Challenge
I hadn't planned on participating in SAF 2015, but yesterday morning as the festivities began I decided
to add some craft time to my day and play along with some of the challenges. The first challenge, the bridal challenge was to create an all white card with the only use of color for the sentiment.

Curtain Call Challenge-Celebrate
I'm happy to be playing along with the Curtain Call challenge this month with this photo as the inspiration.
My interpretation focuses on balloons but with a patriotic theme, inspired by Independence Day here in the states.
I used a cutting file by Miss Kate's Cuttables along with a PTI cloud die cut. The sentiment is from Vintage Picnic (PTI). The patterned paper is from my stash. Copics came in handy for coloring the balloons' strings and shading the clouds. The balloons float proudly on a card base of Aqua Mist.

Papertrey February Blog Hop Challenge
With snow and ice here in east Tennessee, our local schools have been closed for eight days running, and my UPS order has been returned to the terminal for four days. Luckily, my PTI package was shipped USPS, and although the mailman has missed a few days, he did make here Monday with my PTI goodies.
Despite the cold and gray days, while making this card, I could imagine warm days, blue skies, and floating butterflies.
I began by cutting a 4x5 1/4 panel with a butterfly with my Silhouette Cameo. Then I tamped my palette of inks-- Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, and Royal Velvet on an acrylic block and painted a piece of Bristol paper. After it dried, I attached it under the white panel and attached both to a card base of Hawaiian Shores.
The butterfly still seemed somewhat drab, so I added some shimmer with a Wink of Stella pen.
The sentiment from Birthday Basics is stamped in Hawaiian Shores on a banner die cut. I also ran a Copic marker along the edge of the banner. I attached it and the butterfly's body with dimensional tape.
Thanks for making my blog one of your stops on the hop and thanks to everyone who participates and provides such wonderful inspiration.
Supplies:
Stamps: Birthday Basics (PTI)
Ink: Sweet Blush, Raspberry Fizz, Hawaiian Shores, Royal Velvet (PTI)
Paper: Hawaiian Shores (PTI), white (Recollections), Bristol (Strathmore)
Other: Double Ended Banners die (PTI), Silhouette file #59805,

PTI Anniversary-Heavy Metal Challenge
Here I am back with another card for PTI's anniversary challenges. This challenge is to create a project using nothing but metallics and neutrals.
Just a couple of months ago, I finally purchased the rustic wreath die after its being on my wish list for a long time. And today I used it for just the second time. I attached shimmery wreath to a panel of wood grain impressed vellum which was stitched only along the top with gold thread. And since it is so close to Valentine's Day, it seemed natural to add the love die cut. A few shimmery polka dots along the bottom were easy to stamp with MISTI.
Thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:
Stamps: Polka Dot Basics (PTI)
Ink: Archival Brilliance Galaxy Gold (Tsukineko)
Paper: Vellum, Gold Shimmer (The Paper Studio); white (Recollections)
Other: Rustic Wreath die, Wonderful Words: Love die, Woodgrain Impression Plate (PTI); gold thread

PTI Anniversary Challenge: Tagged and Bagged
The third challenge during PTI's anniversary celebration is to create a tag. I started by cutting a 3/12 x4 tag and rounding the corners. I stamped it in Memento Summer Sky ink with an old gingham background stamp. Then the fun continued with PTI's Stamp-a-faire 1940s stamp set and Everyday Button Bits. I used these inks: Pure Poppy, New Leaf, Aqua Mist, and Harvest Gold. Fussy cutting was required for the scalloped focal point, the banner, and the cherry stem.
Then tragedy struck! I realized I didn't have two identical red buttons. I spent far too much time going through those red buttons looking for two I thought I could use,but I just couldn't put on two buttons that didn't match. So paper buttons to the rescue with Button Up #1 dies and Bitty Background Blocks I. A little baker's twine is the final touch.
This little tag makes me happy-these photos- not so much.
Thanks for stopping by,

PTI Anniversary--Day 2-Maile Belles Inspiration
Day two of PTI's anniversary celebration focuses on designer Maile Belles. And the challenge today is is to create a project based on one of Maile's projects. I chose these small folded cards using the spiral notebook die.
For my cards I used Fruit Fusion : Apple and Heart-to-Heart #6 stamps and dies.
I also used Hello Sunshine for the inside sentiment.
I am going to leave these as surprises for my husband who is busy doing some home remodeling projects.
