Hi everyone! How's the weather in your neck of the woods as Al Roker says on the Today show? Here it has been hot and suffocatingly humid-- more like our July and August weather--weather where two minutes outside leave you "dewey"--a Southern woman's way of saying "sweating profusely". While I much prefer being outside than in an air conditioned room, that just hasn't been the case, the last few days, so I've been inside enjoying the AC while getting crafty. I made a card using this week's sketch at
CPS.
Using A Child's Year Cricut Cartridge, I cut the ice cream cones in different colors and then paper pieced. I stamped the kraft cone with the small diamonds from A Little Argyle with Versarmark. A cherry gem tops each cone.
Gee, I wonder why those diamonds made me think of cool, cool ice cream cones?
Stay cool and thanks for stopping by,
Supplies:

FANTASTIC!!!! This is so yummy to look at :) I am from Alabama originally ...... we called it glistening ... so funny. It took me a very long time to learn not to order "Sweet Tea" in NY .......
ReplyDeleteThe argyle goes perfect with those ice cream cones!! Very "sweet" card!

ReplyDeleteThe weather here is in the 80's again. I like it hot but thankfully we don't have the humidity to go with it.
ReplyDeleteCute card. Love the ice cream cones.
Your card is so pretty! I love your colour mix it *is* so 'ice-creamy - and that font looks fabulous with this! I also like your idea of being 'dewey' I'm going to share that one with my girls! It gets pretty hot here too. You've started a new family cliche! :0) Thank you!
ReplyDeleteYep, this is very "sweet", love those cute ice cream cones!
ReplyDeleteADORABLE! Great use of background stamps and I like the touch of stitching in the corners. Ice cream is my all time favorite comfort food!!
ReplyDeleteSo Yummy! Love your creation with this sketch! I'm lactose intolerant and can't have ice cream. :o( But every once in a while I do 'give in'. Those cones sure look tempting!
ReplyDeleteToo cute Cammie! The perfect card for this sketch!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard 'dewy' before although I have heard 'glow.' I'm glowing. I have two daughters who work at DQ, we get waaay too many of those cones in our house, but not as pretty as these!
ReplyDeleteCammie, I just love the "waffle cones" and the matching background! It is a good thing those ice cream cones are inside otherwise you would have to make them "drippy"! :-)
ReplyDeleteCammie this is a really cute card. Very creative with the argyle on the ice cream cones. My favorite part of the card though was the stitching in the corners. What a cute touch.
ReplyDeleteThis is just TOO CUTE! Love the colors!
